The Microsoft Development Center in Serbia organized the 17th Bubble Cup programming competition for students and high school students. This year, participants from Serbia had the opportunity to compete in one of the most prestigious competitions among young IT enthusiasts, aimed at popularizing programming. The final of “Bubble Cup 17” was held this weekend in Belgrade, with teams competing in the Premier League (students) and Rising Stars (high school students) divisions.
Nineteen teams, the largest number of teams to date, tested their talent and coding skills during an exciting competition day. Each team consisted of up to three members, either students or high school students.
The “BenGIIn Klub” team, composed of Aleksa Milisavljević, Jovan Bengin, and Pavle Martinović, won in the Premier League category. “We’ve been finalists for several years, and this time we won. We are very grateful for the support of the Microsoft Development Center, which has been providing us with both support and knowledge over the years. We are also thrilled to be among the first to visit the new premises in the Ušće 2 building. Competing and looking out over Belgrade from such a height was a special experience,” said Aleksa, a member of the winning team.
In the Rising Stars division, the “100011” team claimed victory. During the awards ceremony, their representative Aleksa Danić thanked the organizers and the other participants. “We had the opportunity to learn new things from the mentors, and the tasks seemed harder than in previous years. We made new connections that will be very valuable for our future careers. Lastly, I’d like to thank the rest of my team, Miloš Milutinović and Uroš Kostadinović, for our excellent collaboration,” he said.
The Bubble Cup has been held since 2008. What began as an idea initiated by a few enthusiasts from the Microsoft Development Center Serbia has, over the years and with the support of the Petlja organization, grown into a significant competition not only for Serbia but also for the region. Many Bubble Cup finalists have gone on to continue their careers at the Microsoft Development Center.
